Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Scout Reel ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are their parent or legal guardian and accept these Terms on their behalf.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
Description of Service
Scout Reel provides an AI-powered platform that analyzes sports video footage and generates highlight reels for high school athletes. The Service includes video uploading, AI-powered highlight detection, reel creation and editing, and sharing capabilities.
Account Registration
To use most features of Scout Reel, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your password
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
For accounts created for minors, the parent or guardian registering the account is responsible for the account and the minor's use of the Service.
User Content
Your Rights
You retain ownership of all content you upload to Scout Reel, including video footage, athlete profiles, and images ("User Content").
License Grant
By uploading User Content, you grant Scout Reel a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- Store, process, and display your content to provide the Service
- Create derivative works (highlight reels) as directed by you
- Use anonymized data to improve our AI algorithms (you may opt out)
This license ends when you delete your content or close your account, except for content you've shared that others have saved or shared further.
Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload content that:
- You don't have the right to share
- Contains inappropriate material or violates any law
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Includes personal information of others without consent
- Contains malware or harmful code
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Scout Reel only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Upload videos of individuals without appropriate consent
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Scrape, harvest, or collect user data
- Use the Service to send unsolicited communications to coaches or others
- Resell or redistribute highlight reels without permission
- Circumvent any access controls or usage limits
Payments and Subscriptions
Pricing
Current pricing is displayed on our pricing page. Prices may change with notice.
Free Tier
Your first highlight reel is free and subject to certain limitations (e.g., 720p quality, watermark).
Paid Reels
Individual reels are charged at the time of creation. No refunds once AI processing has begun.
Season Pass
Season Pass subscriptions provide unlimited reels for the subscription period. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You may cancel anytime; access continues through the paid period.
Refunds
Due to the computational cost of video processing, refunds are generally not available once processing has started. Contact support@scoutreel.com for exceptional circumstances.
Intellectual Property
Our IP
Scout Reel, our logo, and the Service itself are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not use our branding without permission.
AI-Generated Content
Highlight reels are generated using your footage and our AI technology. The resulting reel belongs to you, but we retain rights to the underlying technology and algorithms.
Disclaimers
Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Recruiting Outcomes
Scout Reel is a tool to help athletes be seen by coaches. We make no guarantees about recruiting outcomes, scholarship offers, or college admissions.
AI Accuracy
Our AI highlight detection is designed to identify significant plays, but it may miss some plays or include others you don't want. You always have control to edit and adjust highlights before creating your final reel.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scout Reel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Scout Reel and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another
Termination
By You
You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any other reason with notice where practicable.
Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
General Provisions
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court.
Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Scout Reel.
