We understand that many of our users are minors or the parents/guardians of minors. We take this responsibility seriously and have designed our practices with young athletes' privacy in mind.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. For athlete profiles, you may provide additional information such as:

  • Athlete's name, age, graduation year
  • Sport and position
  • Academic information (GPA, intended major)
  • Physical stats (height, weight)
  • Contact information for recruiting purposes

Video Content: When you upload game footage, we process this video to identify highlights. Videos are stored securely and are only accessible to you and those you explicitly share them with.

Payment Information: If you purchase a reel or Season Pass, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

Information Collected Automatically

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform.

Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, browser type, and IP address to optimize your experience and ensure security.

How We Use Your Information

With Your Consent: When you share a highlight reel, recipients can view the video and any profile information you've chosen to include.

Service Providers: We work with trusted partners for video processing, hosting, payment processing, and analytics. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.

  • Active Accounts: We retain your information as long as your account is active
  • Deleted Videos: Removed from active systems within 30 days; from backups within 90 days
  • Deleted Accounts: Personal information deleted within 30 days; anonymized usage data may be retained
  • Financial Records: Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance

Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Marketing Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from promotional emails via the link in each email
  • AI Training Opt-Out: Contact us to exclude your videos from AI training datasets

Children's Privacy

Scout Reel is designed for high school athletes, many of whom are under 18. We require parental consent for users under 13 and encourage parental involvement for all minor users. Parents can:

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without parental consent.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:
